What is the Gospel?

The classic Gospel message is that sinners are forgiven and accepted by God’s grace alone because of the work of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 5:17).   Tim Keller summarizes it this way:

Whether we have never stepped foot in a church, or we have been a Christian for 30 years, we are all in the same boat -- we need Jesus Christ to be our Savior and our Lord. His grace transforms anyone and any place that it touches. It affects everything we do at our church.

It makes us outward facing, as we become a people for others.  It transforms our relationships, helping us to develop community.  It makes us new, not just nicer.  It heals broken relationships.  And it transforms our culture.  How does this play out in our lives?
